why is yay so bad?

what makes people like f0rsaken, Chronicle, trexx, Shao, N4RRATE so good? why can they play every agent in the game well, why are players like yay so bad if they have to play anything besides their OP crutch agents

Yay thrived off of 2 agents when they had a broken meta. Other players adapted and learnt new agents and yay is way behind the curve. Just now on bleed yay is trying to prove that he’s not a one trick, and it didn’t go so well

that's fair. DUELISTS comes and goes but FLEXES stays. there will always be a younger, sharper, better duelists. duelist is the often celebrated role the best players, the big names come from this role. but flex is a role which takes more form the player but given less praise.
if yay is able to flex (which looks like he is willing to), i believe he can be one of the best flex player in the game. that is if the team can work together. just give them time.

but Sayf, f0rsaken, Chronicle, trexx, N4RRATE all can play amazing duelists, even after not playing them for a long time, they would still be good, i think every top player should be able to play every agent, why are there so many one tricks specifically as duelist or Chamber, Cryo 0.90 rating on jett nowadays

yay was carried by jett and chamber but after they got nerfed he fell off. Also, because optic carried yay by basing their whole roster and game plan around yay which none of his teams after optic do/did (DSG, bleed)
