like it's really that simple. bo3 single round robin -> double elim playoffs -> 12-team masters. twice a year. LCQ then 16-team Champs.

It’s because riot has stupidly put 2 splits, kickoff, 2 masters, and champions into the space of like 6-7 months or something stupid like that. I don’t understand why they don’t go almost year round like league. If they did that they could easily do round robin, but with this corner they’ve painted themselves into, they don’t have enough time for round robin unfortunately
