After this past LAN:
Overrated: Shazham and Izzy
Shazham is certainly a great player, but I felt he really underperformed this tournament (alongside the rest of SEN, but calling out Dapr or Zombs is a bit cruel). The team was just constantly outplayed and didn't improve much after Reykjavik. I think it would be best if he plays another agent and the team has a coach, then he has less pressure in being the teams tactician and can instead focus on being the very good IGL that he has shown himself to be time and time again. SEN is still a great team and has a good chance of winning Champions regardless.
Izzy received so much hype before Berlin but got Jett diffed by everyone and didn't look any better than his teammates (except maybe paura who did shockingly badly as IGL imo).
Honourable mentions would go to Lakia, but I just feel bad for the guy. At least he got a nice trip to Berlin.
Underrated: Avova and Redgar
Both of these players were great, but lacked the spotlight shone on some of their teammates like Nukkye or Nats. But I feel that both players were reliable and formed the back bone of their teams. Redgar in particular really impressed me, I never thought much of him but he was such a good IGL t
Honourable mention would go to Deffo, another Gambit player who I never thought much of going into the tournament- but was fantastic.
Naturally there is some recency bias in my list
I rate gambit very highly, they performed very well individually throughout the tournament. They were nowhere near losing to CR, the defence of Gambit was just too strong (although I do respect CR's attempt and improvement over last time).
As for Sentinels, the team in general is not overrated. They are very good. Probably third place behind Envy and Gambit, but this list was about players and individually they were terrible this tournament. Tenz was good but more inconsistent than usual, his Raze in particular was a great disappointment. Sick was unremarkable. Zombs and Dapr performed worse than I have ever seen. I think the team just had a rough tournament.
