If you have any questions about Turkiye, feel free to ask me. It can be as ridiculous as you want, as long as you're not being over the top.

Inspired by QIQ, who made a similar thread on Japan

What is the most beautiful place to visit in Turkey

Marmaris and Dalaman are two places you absolutely must visit if you plan on visiting Turkiye in the summer. I am speaking from experience here, having been to these locations.

I heard it can be very cheap to take a trip to turkey these days because of exchange rates, is this true? anything to be concerned about while travelling there?

1- yes here is too cheap for tourists
2- no i guess

If you are planning a trip to Turkiye, I can assure you that it will be very comfortable. Unfortunately, the reason you mentioned in context is one of the main reasons why it is so cheap to travel here from other countries. Exchange rates are extremely high here, and people from other countries can easily get by. Apart from that, I think you'll have a great time visiting here. Be careful about our taxi drivers, though. They are the con artists who can easily defraud you while you are travelling.

Always talk to the driver about the cost of the taxi trip BEFORE he starts to drive. Negotiate!

In Turkiye, even the taximeter can deceive you. People must be aware.

If the taxi driver does not try to extend the route, there will be no problem.

Well that’s the whole problem isn’t it 😭😭

If we are talking about taxi drivers, this is not even 10% of the problem I mentioned.

Yeah yeah its 100% Historical This show was a good chapter in my life as my whole family eagerly waited for the next episode to air.We enjoyed it a lot and this show literally sky rocketed the turkey soap/series watchers in my country (Bangladesh)

Although the show used to be quite popular back in the day, I have no clue if viewers believe the show represents the true version of our history quite correctly. I personally think it became as much of a love story as all the other Turkish TV shows, but I'm glad you could find our culture fascinating and loving in this way.

One of the greatest things that has ever happened to this forum, I believe. This is such a lovely way that we can share bits of our cultures to others.

"generally european" ?
If you ask 100 random people in Turkey whether they are European, 95 people will say no.

If we give them 2 options they will choose Europe but if we ask are you European they will say no.
In other words, we are very far from Asia in terms of culture.

  • 💀
  • We never get tired of drinking tea. It is ingrained in our culture. For me, I drink several times a day.
  • I am not sure what other people in our country consider of us, but one thing is for sure: we are a Eurasian nation and we share many different cultures from both European and Asian sides.
  • I find that lad quite odd and I have never been to any of his restaurant.
  • If you're interested in doughy dishes, I strongly recommend you to try Manti and Bazlama. If not, go for Iskender. It's goated.

A lot more popular than it was not too long ago, but still very very niche. I might not be qualified to inform you on this topic cause I don't really follow Turkish esports teams, but I think the most popular to watch is CSGO from what I can tell and VALORANT might be the 2nd. Judging by what I see online, the most played games are, League Of Legends, CSGO, Metin 2, Knight Online?, Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft (probably)

League was very popular between 2015 and 2020, but it became less popular due to our country's financial downturn, lack of achievement on the international stage, and lack of investment on teams. However, the popularity of Valorant among major Turkish streamers has influenced the majority of us, and I believe VAL is now one of the most popular games in Turkey alongside CS.

Additionally, I ought to mention that people in our country do not seem to care about esports at all, with only a small percentage of us interested in developing the scene. I hope that in the future, Turkiye will have a more positive perception of esports.
