Currently, 3/4 of the teams (FNATIC, PRX, LOUD) in the Top 4 of Champions have a map (Pearl, Haven, Fracture, respectively) that they've permabanned the whole tournament. If we don't count EG's game against FPX, the number of teams with a permaban goes to 4/4.
It's a similar story in Tokyo's Top 4, where FNATIC and PRX had the same permabans while EG permabanned Bind. Again, that number goes back to all of Top 4 if we ignore NRG's upper bracket game, as they ended up removing Fracture from the veto for the rest of the event.
This brings up an interesting question, is it even worth it for VCT teams to practice every map when the Top 4 of the previous two global events have consistently relied on permabans? Would love to know everyone's thoughts on this, just a random thought I had going through the data.
