Major is a valve thing. They got that in dota and cs.
Its just a term for the biggest annual international event. (Sometimes there are 2 majors in 1 year)

We should just use championship here for riot event. League got their champs event. Val got their champs event.

well if i remember correctly after ACEND won champions all the EU fans said that only champions counted as a major
