What wouldn't be fine, though, is them taking a CSGO skin like Dragon Lore and making a bad knockoff. That's an easy lawsuit that Valve would win.

idk how some people in the Val community have the audacity to say Valve copied Riot.
CS (Counter-Strike, not CSGO) has existed for over half a decade longer than Riot Games themselves, let alone VALORANT.
If anything, VALORANT copies things from other games with abilities (e.g. R6, OW1, League probably)

By your logic, every single thought, everything ever created is all copied from something else as there is always a connection. me when a company, with a lot of angry shareholders doesn't want to innovate. spend time working on games that could be flops. and in the process waste the devs time (hi valve 😘💋, ur finally fixing up cs after all these years and guess what, they "copied val" what the fuck valve, innovate) its a formula that riot found works for them
