No lower brackets on Playoffs?

I just don't understand how they can make the groupstage a week long but they can't spare time for lower bracket playoffs? Teams worked so hard to get to the playoffs and now they have one lifeline on it? Can anybody explain why? maybe funds? time? or the venue itself can't be more than 10 days?

That's true but the group stages are much longer, it's much more difficult for the smaller teams to qualify for the round of 16.

I say having smaller teams going further in a competition is a good thing, and healthy for the competition.

IDK a lower bracket would add a lot more games. Also, single elem is really exciting to watch.
