even if he is looking for attention, that is still an underlying problem. he needs to open up, WHY is he looking for attention, why is he trying to vicitmise himself, thats still something that is unstable. normal people dont go to such lengths except they actually need help, so seeking attention is probably the only option they have. its becuase they feel as if they cannot open up to the real problem, the real thing thats bugging them.

i had a family member like this, we sat with them, and helped them out, no hard feelings, we were non judgmental, even when they were looking for attention. we were on their side no matter what, sometimes its all you need, you need that reassurance that someone is working for you, not against you.
