Because Russians who can't speak the language is gonna drag a team down strategically? How are y'all not getting that communication is probably the most important aspect of professional tactical fps. Of course smthn is gonna frag out, his team's plan is to set him up and rely on him to frag out because they can't actually build a proper strats due to language barrier. Something is good but he won't get picked up by a tier 1 JAPANESE team. Maybe a Russian or an eu team.

I think now is becoming more common to Russians play here, but I think past years (war fucked even more) some orgs had some bias to recruit them

he could've been picked up by franchised APAC team but it's not a case in EMEA, since he lives in far east Russia which is too far to play with comfortable ping. Also he isn't that proficient in Japanese, so he can't be picked up by franchised JP team either.

EMEA teams should pick up him,
Russian players in the far east are currently only able to play in Japan.
CIS is too big as a region.

I think so too.
Way better to play EMEA since there's no language barrier, but I think russian war kinda delayed him.
