ShahZaM was a founding member of the Sentinels roster when they first made their entrance into VALORANT in April of 2020. Upon their entrance to VALORANT, the team was a consistent contender within the North American region taking wins over favorites like Cloud9, TSM and ENVY in the tournaments leading up to First Strike: NA. During first strike the team kept its dominance making it to the main event's semifinals where they would go on and lose to eventual winners, 100 Thieves.
Shortly after the conclusion of First Strike, the Valorant Champions Tour was announced, a chance for teams to qualify and compete on the international stage. Under ShahZaM's leadership the team qualified for the NA S1 Masters. But they would soon run into problems with Jay "sinatraa" Won being accused of sexual assault and being moved onto the bench. With the empty slot on the roster, the team turned to Tyson "TenZ" Ngo to fill the gap. They went on to win the tournament dropping only 1 map to Luminosity in the first round of competition. Their success didn't stop there, they went on to decimate the Stage 2 Challengers Circuit and qualify for the first International LAN, VCT Stage 2: Masters Reykjavík. The team would go on to flawlessly win the tournament not dropping a map, and giving North America the first ever international VALORANT LAN win. Unfortunately Sentinels could not keep their winning ways, with a top eight exit at Masters: Berlin and group stage finish at Valorant Champions 2021 to end their year.
2022 gave sentinels no more success. Even with roster changes throughout the year and bringing on a full time Head Coach, they still would go on to miss every international event within the year. Since their year ending at the NA LCQ, it was announced that Sentinels would receive a slot in the America's franchised league representing Canada and the United States. After the announcement, the roster was set to be reformed. All of the Sentinels roster except for TenZ and SicK have been either moved to the bench or off of the team as well as an overhaul to the coaching staff.
Since the announcement of his departure, Sentinels have inducted ShahZaM into the "Sentinels Hall of Fame" quoting:
"Under your leadership, we became Champions. You changed the way the game is played, and brought pride back to North American esports. Wherever you go, your legacy will always be a part of this team. Once a Sentinel, always a Sentinel. "
With their eyes set on 2023, Sentinels are looking to make a statement on the America's league.
