v1 fan take on v1

many people say v1 iceland was a fluke, but everything has lots of factors going into it, and v1 had several things going perfectly for them

1. Could play post plant easily due to 5v5 retakes... Vanity was getting them lots of open sites and thus they could play postplants with all their characters
2. Penny was creating lots of space for the team... his jett was causing tons of bullshit to the other team with space creation as well as multikills, he also didnt die on entry, so after the anchor was traded off they could go postplant...
3. 1 man on sites, once again vanity was attacking sites with least amount of players on it... perfect for postplant
4. Postplant had been abused, but not how they did it... they took it a step further and teams had never seen something like this before....
5. Weren't predictable... They didnt really change up their comps in this masters except putting penny on raze and sage and zellsis minor changes with killjoy flex.... penny didnt like raze and sage, putting him on reyna for split was better back in the day, but there wouldnt really be a way to change up comps which would lead to being predictable in what they are choosing.

My opinion, it can be shit or ok...
Also, these factors helped them qual, and then also happened at iceland

edit: (iceland edit) one more thing is that jammyz was taking soo many 1v1 fights.... i think his aim is better than wippie's, but also wippie isnt a person who is comfortable dry peeking and always fighting players, he works better with a more structured team

All of the pieces just fell into place for them at that time. The stars were aligned

They just utilized the post plant extremely well and they made it to Iceland.

imo Zellsis should stop playing KJ for its a wasted potential. He is one of the best hard entry raze players ( like leaf and asuna ) and that firepower is what V1 need more than the Post plant meta that is basically receding back...

Penny just fell off... he was considered better than wardell... yesterday he got diffed by Tim from CS

V1 played really well with the old comp (old patch). But they aren't the "second" best team in NA.

I feel like they were in sync with the meta going into iceland and used it to their advantage with the viper astra setup and since astra got nerfed their whole setup seems shaky
Cant count them out i feel like they have a lot of time to prepare for LCQ and get better

their run on iceland wasn't a fluke imo.... they deserved it... but people overhyped them and c9 way too much after only 1 good run..
