Last years system was way better IMO. We've seen that not all 1st seeded teams can compete against group teams. Riot should bring back the system where all teams (no matter 1st place in challengers) go to groups and the top 8 teams make it out. Makes it more interesting to watch and you see more games.
Yeah I think they reduced to 12 from 16 because they want champions to be bigger than masters (like they do in LoL) but it would be better if we had 16 in masters with all teams in group stage and 24 teams in champions
The problem with that was placement matches really meant nothing for any team
Agreed, Xset wouldn’t have made it out of groups, groups give everyone a fair chance and it helps teams prepare for what’s next and adjust to the environment
