Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom has made the move from KR to NA, joining T1 Valorant.
Munchkin is widely considered as one of Asia's finest players, who has played for prestigious teams such as C9 KR and Crazy Raccoon. In CR, he and his team boast a wide variety of achievements, such as appearances in Masters 2, 2021: Reykjavik, 9th - 12th in Masters 3: Berlin, and another appearance at champions 2021. Munchkin has played a variety of agents frequently, including Cypher, Jett, Raze, Killjoy, and Skye. In CR, he often topped the boards as a flex player and IGL.
T1 has seen a myriad of instability and lack of results in 2022. They brought on steel, an experienced LAN veteran in CS and Valorant, to IGL, but it is yet to bear any fruit. They also added Johann "seven" Hernandez, and Josh "pwny" VanGorder, 2 promising up and comers, but again it has failed to see any significant result. T1 exited all 4 NA open qualifiers, never being close to qualifications and consistently losing to Tier 2 teams. Recently, seven has moved to TSM, Rahul "curry" Nemani has moved to C9, and long-standing head coach dd8 has left the roster. T1 has added Son "xeta" Seon-ho, a dedicated world-class sova from C9, and former C9 coach Yoon "Autumn" Eu-ddeum, per xeta and Autumn's request.
The addition of Munchkin gives T1 2 Korean players. With T1's CEO claiming they will stay in NA, munchkin is presumably to the be the last KR/international player to join the team. T1 are setting their sets, presumably on the 3rd party tournaments after Sep 2022, and for VCT 2023, where they will likely be guaranteed a spot if Riot chooses to franchise the VCT.
T1 is now:
Joshua "steel" Nissan
Josh "pwny" VanGorder
Son "xeta" Seon-ho
Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom
Zander "thwifo" Kim
