So your going to forget about all the tournaments that TSM won prior to first strike and Masters 1?

Are they VCT tournaments?

No Shahz because Shahz isn't a good IGL anymore, no TenZ because TenZ isn't good anymore, no Hiko because enough baiters on the team already.
Hunting [#13]Are they VCT tournaments?
Prior To first strike and Masters 1 there were only invitationals. They still included the best NA teams and consisted of the same formats. I don't see the difference between First strike vs invitationals excluding that Riot games held First strike.
Hunting [#18]It's still an official tourney pre-VCT
First Strike: North America is an official Riot Games event run in partnership with Nerd Street Gamers and UMG Gaming.
Two open qualifiers will be held for a main event on December 3-6. Top four from each qualifier advance to main event.
not VCT
Hunting [#13]Are they VCT tournaments?
tsm won 2 of the 5 A tier tournaments (including First Strike) in 2020, before the 2021 VCT.
they also won damn near every C- and B-tier tournament in 2020.
A tier 2020 and Results
T1 x NSG - TSM
FaZe Invitational - TSM
Pop Flash - SEN
JBL - SEN
First Strike - 100T

You said it, Riot Games held First Strike, that's what makes a tournament official.

yes but its not a part of the VCT

First Strike was the more important of them so my point still stands but you are correct.

Ok so your telling me that Invitationals before VCT were not official. They literally are the exact same without the inclusion of riot games,

Riot game holding it makes it more official than some random platform, it is considered the first big NA tourney before VCT was created.

fair enough. we really need more tournaments like that in the scene.

All good, nothing serious.

Prior to that we had no VCT and so those tournaments were considered of high importance as they were the only officials to benchmark and rank NA teams. Therefore if we ignore the inclusion of Riot games in First Strike all tournaments were the same and prior to First Strike TSM dominated the scene with consistent wins over other tier 1 teams.

I agree, TSM dominated the scene in the first tourneys pre-vct, I'm just stating that 100T won the first NA tourney held by Riot (First Strike) but you are right in everything else.

Respectable point, agree that 100T did win the first major official tournament in NA, but that doesn't mean we should disclude or ignore all the tournaments prior.

Never said that, TSM was the better team in 2020.

Keep the NSG Summer and Winter Champs, but up the prize pool to $100k plus and make them LAN events.
Add in a yearly Knights event based on the monthlies, with invited monthly winners and a qualifier to fill 12 spots.
Obvi would need better sponsors, but would be cool to have more events like CSGO.

This game lacks LAN events and crowds at Masters or Champions, as you said they should also make bigger tournaments apart from the VCT ones.
