im watching the G2 vs FaZe game
can someone explain who plays what role but in Valorant terms?
from what I can see it looks like m0nesy is Jett?
ZoldyK [#3]Niko - Reyna (Entry)
M0nesy - Jett (Awper)
Hunter - Cypher (Lurker)
Aleksi - IGL
Jackz - Support
thanks <3
dreamy_ [#5]m0nsey is the awp not exactly Jett he doesn't really go in first.
so more like Chamber?

I mean the Wardell kinda Jett
There is the entry which is usually a rifler/hybrid player. (Hybrid = rifler + sometimes oper)
Then there is second man in
There is the support who throw utility whilst the entry is happening
The oper
The lurker
On CT side you have things like anchor and rotator
In the current evolution of the game these roles are very fluid and it depends on map, site, area and so on

so fuckin cringe
u cant really give the roles they play agents it doesnt work like that in cs. You have very dedi roles in valo but cs you have to be able to do anything. ppl specialize but for alot of plays spawns also matter on both sides so u dont even necessarily have a choice in everything for who does what. Ik even at MDL level we would dry run strats resetting spawns so everyone could do every job.
Entry, Support, AWPer, and the rest is just makeshift more or less. generally have 2nd entry fraggers and a 2nd support but nothing near as set as valo has.

thx < ££
miniature [#17]hekzys reply is better i just have some context to it i guess
Hekzy reply was good, i just wanted to know the general roles
e.g. monesy is awp but more chamber or jett etc
i get that you can't give direct roles I just wanted to try understand the game more if that makes sense
edit: also, is jks not a member of FaZe? he is also wearing a Canadian jersey but sounds Australian/NZ>?

nah ofc. Roles are based more on mechanical specialities like some people are god entries but suck in clutches. some people swing and get 1 deaged without gettign a shot off but then will kill 4 of those deagle players when theyre tryna defuse. AWP is more similar cause its mainly, who has the consistent flicks+doesnt rush freebies(this 1 not as big of a thing in cs as it is in valo). Also a big part of what makes awpers stand out is positioning IQ, who can set themselves up to be there for that free kill the most and adaptively as often as possible. Everyone has the same utility and there aren't really nade noobs in the pro scene, in valorant u have people who are bots at their agents but still frag out. Thats just a function of how new the game is tho imo. also at the pro level generally nobody sucks at any specific area too hard but that doesnt mean there isnt someone else on the team better at it/worse at an area you are better at. and jks is subbing for rain
8adg3r [#19]Yeah tenz and csgo lan don't go too well :/
He was more successful than boaster and derke lol

i see, so it really depends on maps and individuals?
like most top players can play most roles etc
shrado [#22]He was more successful than boaster and derke lol
they all 3 achieved literally nothing although tenz was the only paycheck stealer

depends on spawns more than map, u dont have freezetime where u can move u just get a spawn location and go, and there is no consistency in that so that forces everyone to be capable to some point at every role(aside from awping but even then ull get non-awpers taking it for a pick cuz of spawn). but individuals can be better at certain types of fights than others, typically its a matter of how fast they can close a fight vs just being able to frag. If you get a godflash to entry with and u get a guy afk looking at a corner blind u want the guy that insta hs's him entrying more than the guy that sprays him down cuz the pace/spacing of the round is heavily influenced by that.
