Limit on roster changes

Is there any limit of how many number of times you can bring roster changes in a season? (keeping the same 3 man core roster)

I always wondered actually, what defines the core?
How long does a player have to have been on a team for them to be in the core 3?

Example, 100Ts core is obviously hiko, Asuna, Ethan.
If Ethan got dropped tomorrow, then they wouldnt have kept the core 3. But would the same be true if he got dropped next year?

Or is it any 3 players that a team started the season / year with?

the roster you start the vct season is used to evaluate the core. next year will depend on the roster they start the next vct year with.
