Masters slots and their determinants

Masters (and international events) serve multiple auxiliary purposes besides just determining the best team in the world. Their slot allocation should represent all the goals they set to achieve.

Masters events' slots should be decided by:
i) The historical performance of the region
ii) Player population of the region
iii) Viewership and fan interaction numbers
iv) Potential for growth

Each of these determinants should not be equally weighted. I believe that (i) should receive the most importance. Then, (ii) and (iii) should be equally weighted. (iv) has the least importance.

With these determinants in mind, I believe the slot distribution for Masters and Champs events should be:
(masters)
2 NA
3 EMEA
2 SEA
1 JP
1 KR
1 BR
2 LATAM

(champs)
2 NA
3 EMEA
2 SEA
1 JP
1 KR
1 BR
2 LATAM

  • Grand Finalists of Masters 1 and 2.

All teams going to champs must be decided by an LCQ tournament, with no direct circuit point-based entry.

I'm not an OWL fan, what are you referring to exactly?

Not a bad idea, but the problem with doing both Grand Finalists is that it will heavily take away from the hype of the actual Master's Grand Final, with both teams already being qualified

I'm assuming the honor of being an international LAN winner takes priority over qualification. But, that is a possible downside.
