I heard French league, Turkish league, and many more leagues in EMEA incoming, will NA have some kind of 3rd party league ??
Obeeey [#3]NA has no nations/countries like EU
Usa/canada
The leagues could also be by state/province or by general region.
MadnessMedia [#2]No 3rd party league as far as I know, but NA challengers is gonna work like a league with several weeks of round robin-type play.
sadge, at this point, EMEA have much more healthy scene for pros
HackNaija [#6]not really
That's true , EMEA will have several regional leagues, one super league (top teams will compete), and big Red Bull tournament. When NA beside VCT events, nothing more
valulrantefanboy [#5]sadge, at this point, EMEA have much more healthy scene for pros
EMEA is like 3x bigger than NA as far as size, having independent leagues might be just because of that and might not mean it’s a healthier pro scene. Also pro salaries are generally higher in NA, it all depends on what you mean by healthy.

There is simply not enough players for it be based on state province. West coast immortal/radiant queues are dead. Everyone plays central. As a Canadian myself I don’t think there is even enough Canadians for a league to be created for just Canada. More people live in California than our entire country lol.
NA is just too big to have leagues. You have 3-4 regions and a few teams qualify for each region for
Playoffs but then how do they play each other on fair terms? A central team will get like 20 ping to a server where west coast people will get 60.

It’s easier for europe just due to ping situations as europe being a smaller continent. Someone from NA who is west coast queuing or playing against a central team will get 60 or higher ping as the others will get 20.
HackNaija [#6]not really
no they definitely do, they have an environment in which there is a lot more practice to help the smaller teams really find what things they need to improve on. These frequest tournaments also help the stronger teams cuase they can maintain adapt and fine tune their strategies, so all in all they do have a better environment for competitive and its no wonder NA performed so poorly seeing as they havent played a tourney in ages and EU just finished the redbull cup

no im pretty sure that any definition of healthy would still be in favour of EU, cause even in terms of salary eu players still get a sizeable amount. Though most likely you would define the health of a scene by its support as well as competition and i would definitely say that EU rn definitely has more of that
Obeeey [#3]NA has no nations/countries like EU
could be by state that wouldnt be a problem, a league doesnt need to be by nation/country
ItsHunter [#15]could be by state that wouldnt be a problem, a league doesnt need to be by nation/country
Not enough playerbase
