While they did win today, they should not keep jieni7 on the starting lineup. while he may have been better today, theres no point in building chem then breaking it over and over again by subbing players in and out. If any of you have watched zjc before edg, hes definitely one of the better players in china, while being on bum tyloo he was probably still the best player on that team for most of the time. so zjc>jieni7 skillwise, but why is he a better fit than jieni on edg? afterall, they had chem from stage 1?
the coaching staff of edg wanted to fill the role of s1mon, so they took jieni7 from their acad team, and they also wanted a yoru player which jieni was. However, his performance in stage 1 was abysmal leading to them missing toronto. they then brought zjc to replace him, given how hes been a historically good player, i assume the coaches thought he would be perfect, being better at shooting and having a decently big agent pool. BUT, he didnt play well. why is that?
edg had a good system that they had created with s1mon, but they changed it up when jieni joined slightly to give them the yoru option, but they didnt use jieni on yoru often, but it usually meant that jieni was still in decent places to get kills due to this. but for zjc, they basically went back to when they had s1mon on those maps he was on flash ini, putting him in bad spots to get kills most of them time given how s1mons fragging was frankly mid. and when they tried him off that, he was also quite underwhelming, with him basically just being a role player and not really trying to make any of the plays he used to. maybe because of confidence? anyways, he didnt play particularly well but effectively just played his role, anchoring, gathering info allat
the coaches today seemed to have realised what was wrong, and changed it up. jieni is off the offmeta breach and now trying new agents like omen which he looked decent on, and his kayo was better today too. hes often in better spots to get kills, and was able to capitalise off it decently.
HOWEVER, this kinda put smoggy off his role for a map. while hes flexy, i think that this would also happen for other maps and i would rather have him on omen than jieni on omen. AND, zjc would fit better into this system right now than jieni. he wouldnt have to play much flash ini, getting back into senti in double senti, or getting back into duelist in double duelist, both of which he appears way more comfortable on than on flash ini. and he would definitely learn omen given how flexible he is, or nobody can just go omen while smoggy goes viper and zjc goes scan. he can fit into double ini/duel/sen/ctrler without pushing anyone into a role they look uncomfortable in, or taking a role that someone is way better at.
also not a fan of picking up players for a few games then dropping them without a proper chance to prove themselves
TL;DR zjc would be better in the comps edgs running now than jieni
