Anime has always been potrayed as something only kids watch in india. Even most of the teenagers think anime is just like those pokemon & beyblade type thing hence it is not that much popular in india but it is changing quite rapidly & a lot of ppl started watching anime in india pandemic so I guess we may get a legal way to watch all animes in next 2-3 years.
Also, older ppl don't care much about anime as long as it is not showing anything which they found to be insulting towards their religion.
