As if it wasn't hard already to get a GPU that wasn't overpriced as shit due to low supply and scalpers, this fucking tariff shit is gonna make prices even worse. I'm keeping my 3070 for at least another year ig 😭

yeah but my 8 gigs of vram aint cutting it no more in some recent games fam. Specially bc I like to play at 1440p

yeah this vram shit sucks. it's not hard for devs to optimise their games to take less vram too. but that's another issue.
amd cards have a higher amount of vram for the price - looks like once you're able to afford an upgrade it might be worth looking into

the new 9070 and 9070xt cards look great, only problem is they are going for fucking 900+ usd on ebay when their msrp is like 600.

EDIT: Just checked and the 9070 non xt is going for around 750 usd while the XT ones range from 950 to 1150. fuck that bro. Im just gonna wait till prices go down tbh

The plan is gonna be to wait for the 6000 series to drop so that I can finally get a 5070TI for a decent price 🤑

i would rather pick up 9070XTor 7900xtx both are pretty solid for 1440p RN apart from the shitty assassin creed shadows these cards would run everything perfectly , but i can see PPL buying NVIDIA bcz of their trust in the company

I just feel like even though AMD has been getting better, NVIDIA has better upscaling tech which is becoming pretty much a requirement to properly run modern AAA games, which sucks but that's the direction the industry seems to be taking. So having the better upscaling tech is a big selling point for me. And then you have frame gen which Nvidia is also better at. BUT at MSRP, I'd buy a 9070xt over a 5070 anyday, all day.

frame gen prolly yeah but amd's FSR 4.0 is so similarl to DLSS4.0 u wont tell a difference

I'm mostly worried about the higher amount of artifacts FSR 4 has. But ig they will improve that with time too, just like nvidia did.

Yep but used market is not too bad. You can even find RTX 4070 for 500€ at times here. After 50 series dropped those prices went down decently.

True but for me the jump from a 3070 to a 4070 is not big enough to justify $500 imo. If I had an older GPU itd be worth it, but this jump wouldnt make a huge difference other than having frame gen in supported games and the okay-ish 20-30% more performance
