i never asked him to apologise. i dont even have twitter lmao i couldnt care less why he did or if he did bcos i genuinely dont care what they do, once again i dont put them on pedestals you do.
youre just wrong tho. its factually a slur my guy. you can just search it up lmao. i mean cmon atleast be right. just type it into google rn and read the responses. ill do it for you:
"In typical usage, retard is a pejorative term for someone who is considered stupid, slow to understand, or ineffective in some way as a comparison to stereotypical traits perceived in those with intellectual disability."
its modern usage between friends is a relatively new thing but for the vast majority its still a slur. its right there in writing. theyve been using it for years.
"A slur is putting someone down by INSULTING a group of people. In the sense of curry and zellsis they are literally just using it to call someone dumb" where do you think its definition of dumb comes from? bcos it meant someone with an intellectual disability! which is why it became a slur well done my guy! you just straight up admitted to it. it WAS a medical term, it changed bcos they change to words like disabled, handicapped etc thats why words like moron, idiot and even this became insults which in turn created a slur bcos this was heavily loaded.
" that by viewing it as a slur. You are insinuating it you should take offense to being compared to disabled people" im not saying that, im saying youre comparing something/someone negatively, to mean disabled.
“Because the word has become a casual description of anything negative or flawed, ‘retarded’ is no longer considered an appropriate way to describe people with intellectual disabilities. And any use of the word, even when used as slang and not intended to be offensive, is hurtful - because it will always be associated with people who have disabilities.”

the whole point is regardless of intention when you use the word it invokes something in everyone that will make you think of a disabled person. thats just a fact im sorry you dont have that empathy. you need to talk to someone that is affected with this word they will tell you why you should care. its ok tho not everyone can change for the better :)
