top 5 players of the tournament

1. jawg
   consistent entry, shoots well - i will say i think he's slightly carried (no hate, if its in the game use it, kind of like kk neon at champs) by how disgustingly overpowered yoru ult is (criminal that it costs 7). still, insane impact, pretty much solo carried g2 to second place imo.

2. s1mon
   i will glaze this guy till the day i die. probably the best support player this game has seen. piles all his util super effectively and is more than willing to throw his life away once he's out of util to secure a good trade. also good in a clutch too and can land the impact kills when his team really needs it.

3/4. meteor/chichoo
asian alfajer(s), shoots people in the head, impacts massive amounts of empty space on map etc.

5. derke
   also pretty much solo carried vit to playoffs. he's kangkang but consistent/aspas but doesn't bait.

jawg recency bias he underperformed until grand finals
chichoo too low just because he didnt play well in the last game doesnt mean he didnt dominate the whole tournament

Have to disagree on the s1mon take. He is definitely an amazing util player, but he was by far EDG's lowest performing player and didn't have too many shining moments. I feel like he is still a bit naive and has a tendency to panic bring out his util when caught lacking so he has some potential to improve still. Jawgemo mostly felt like Top 5 after that finals performance, but trent has been far more consistent across the whole tournament.

• I'll be honest, Chichoo looked like the best player in the world at his peaks. He is definitely my top player at this tournament despite bombing out 3rd.
• iZu has grown so much as a player and he definitely looked like such a strong flex player especially on more aggressive agents.
• Trent was consistently a high impact player and despite some of his flubs, he really pushed the limits of his opponents with his aim and util.
• Meteor definitely rose to the occasion in this series and he had such insanely clutch moments. There are times where he made some blunders, but his finals performance makes him top 5.
• Lastly, I think free1ng deserves a shout for Top 5 given he literally played only Tejo this tournament and was showing how busted this agent was. He made some really sick plays that truly made DRX a threat.

I know there will always be people who want Kangkang, Derke or even Jawgemo in the Top 5, but I have to say that these players are the best duelists and naturally will rise to the occasion. However, this tournament really highlighted how some of the craziest plays came from the other roles.

I want to shoutout Sylvan, iZu and Jawgemo though
Jawgemo is cracked and those multifrag clutches in the gf were insane and made my biased for this take (at least i'm aware)
Sylvan is a smart player and I was really impressed by him
iZu also really stepped up this whole event
