role issues
they have 2 players who are very good on duelist
zekken and n4rrate
n4rrate only plays good when on duelist whereas zekken can flex a bit
Notbaka [#2]I Told this since beginning of time , put Zekken on flex he ll pop off
Zekken duelist >>> narrate duelist
I think the real problem is the Game-planning. I have been following kaplan's work from 2024 till now. Earlier on 2024 they were wasting so much time on mid-rounding and kind of lost whenever they lost 1/2 gun fights and then they hadn't have enough time to re-adjust. Since then to now i think they've been going through serious mid-rounding issues. In a interview before G2 match Leaf said that they focus on hero rounds to win matches and if you see closely this year, most of the match won by them was heavily favored by this hero rounds. They were playing bad this whole Masters that's one thing but they were kind of clueless in some rounds.
If you watch G2 or EDG they always try to play the game understanding every situations. As one interview JoshRt said he wants his players to play for a long time. So he plans their gameplay with them in such way where they know about the situations of a game. It is actually a superb way of thinking from a coach. Another example i want to give about this recent EDG vs G2 if you guys saw, the staked G2 was clueless against them and their gameplay. This is another type of preparation. Even after nerfing the neon EDG was untouchable with neon against G2. This shows how deep knowledge and plan EDG have on their bag. You just cant always play conventional way to win games. I am mentioning this regarding their gameplay against TL. Even after getting bashed by nAts multiple time they still couldnt make ant anti-starts against him.
Moreover, the players need to become more comfortable with the roles and among themselves. They dont laugh that much, they are not talking anything fun before game or mid game (as far i saw from the vids, comparing 2024 and 2025).
Having Fun and play with confidence will definitely win at least one trophy this year. But they better need to evolve themselves with better plan and much team effort.

Oh my jumpscare
danii1 [#4]Zekken play Raze on Raze maps and N4RRATE play Jett on Jett maps. That's about the only change I'd make to the roles on that team
The opposite its better
I think the solution is try looking at T1's playstyle on maps like haven, they've tried the Yoru - Iso comp and had an alright game against G2. If they really put some time into it, it might look better than anything they can put out right now. I do think their current gameplans are not terrible, really it's the midrounding. Idk if it's the switch from sentinel to initiator by John or the loss of tenz and sacy.
However you gotta be confident in them with their long break and we all know how good the team is
