Not to overreact but is EDG gonna win back to back internationals?
they have an advantage rn in that they had 2 extra weeks to practice and form strats after kickoff. other teams have not seen these strats until now. so they’re gonna dominate for the first few matches, but in playoffs other teams will have the opportunity to study their strats and try to counter them

ok. But winning champions is on different level than winning masters, right?
So winning champions and masters consecutively is more difficult?

altho lockin was considered and given importance as a international major it was a single elim start of the year tourney to showcase all the franchise teams
Hyxagon [#9]this would be the first back to back with a champs win tho
that's true now that you mention it

i'd say its more difficult. usually the reason why it doesn't happen is that the championship roster usually disbands due to financial stuff.

and the time between last year's champions and bangkok is the longest for any two consecutive tournaments.
So it is more difficult to keep your team on top for such a long time

don't forget meta changes and map changes too. if EDG pulls it off then they basically cement themselves as the best team itw.
