Which team will get the most benefits from agents ban system?
In my opinion one of this team is KC. Having engh and saadhak is very good when it comes to creativity and they have Suygetsu and Avez so with agent flexibility they should be fine. Only issue is marteen, but he is this type of players that can learn.
Also PRX great option, doesn’t matter what you ban they will play weird shit

i would say nongshim if they didn't rely on neon so much

I feel like Liquid, Vitality, EDG or Sen could be quite strong as teams that rely more on strong aimers and fundamentals, which are agent agnostic, than heavily drilled strats relying on specific util usage. Agent bans make set strats much more difficult, depending on the number of bans, but most defaults would be difficult to run if you rely on a specific piece of util and that agent gets banned out.

Probably Liquid or Talon, their agent comp are overcooked.
Imagine banning Raze in Split, Astra in Pearl, Sova in Abyss, Jet in Ascent, Breach in Fracture, Omen in Haven

I don’t think that 1 agent does difference since we don’t have OP neon and they should do at least 2 bans per team, this will change game completely

Even 1 ban per team warps the game significantly. For example abyss, sova is an integral part of the pro meta with a >90% play rate, banning him would throw teams off signifcantly as they don’t have drone and dart to contest areas in their defaults. Breach is essential for most teams’ defaults on haven and fracture, banning these agents would cause a lot of chaos for teams. Most maps have one agent in their role that has drastically higher play rate. I think you are underestimating the impact it would have on pro play.

I think you are overrating some abilities and agents. In the past 2 years you definitely can see that riot are progressively preparing us to agents ban by making replacement for agent like fade for sova, harbor for viper, deadlock for sage and etc. if team good enough they can find a new way of how maps can be played. In 2023 teams mostly were running harbor viper on pearl while Navi played sova kayo which is meta right now. So 2 agents ban is showing how good your team actually is and how good you can adapt

Per your pearl example, yes the meta shifted but that was after significant nerfs to viper and a large buff to astra (5 stars) along with changes to b that shifted the meta so it’s not like these two comps were equally viable. Also I’m not sure how meta sova and Kay/0 are, in my mind an astra ban would completely change the approach teams would have.

I probably put to much value into prep time for teams, but I do think agent bans would make for an overall lower skill level in games.

This is changing game completely only for teams that play 1 dimension Valorant and for ranked nerds. Yeah you even can argue and make example like viper on icebox and if viper got banned and harbor as well it is just ruining the way how maps is should be played but is ban of this two agents is advantage? If you ban this agents you can’t play them as well so do you really want this? If you do this you already come up with a plan and different vision of the map so it is making game more interesting and if you are wrong you are gonna get recked

And this is why you should have players with wide agent pool. And we can be pretty sure that agents ban won’t be able any time soon because there are still not that much agent so we need still 2-3 years
