what causes (almost exclusively) valorant players to end their sentences in "no?" a simple statement "they shouldve gone A" or a question like "why didnt they go A" instead turns into "lowkey threw. they go A there, no?"
shesh_ [#3]helps keep the statement open ended and it adds a feeling of someone actually being involved in the conversation, since we're not face to face
or a question like "why didnt they go A"
kuruk [#7]or a question like "why didnt they go A"
too vulnerable, ppl on vlr have too much ego to do that
it's funny that you noticed that, it seems like these players spend a lot of time with each other or talking in ranked, so they get some niche linguistic mannerisms
One thing that tilts me if how everyone that enters Loud begins to say "Querendo ou não" (which means "whether you want it or not") at every sentence even when it doesn't make sense, especially on interviews. Someone starts saying and it's contagious haha

Thats a very interesting subject overall, linguistics and the evolution of language and the implications behind it
I personally think it's a symptom of trying not be bothered and therefore trying to fit in by picking up mannerisms from others on the team
I might just be yapping but it's still interesting nonetheless

I think it's much more hardwired, it's a biological thing because we're a social species so we imitate each other.
but yeah I love linguistics too, I even created a language and stuff, huge nerd
