EDG Map Pick

Why did bros pick Bind?
I know TE has tape they could presumably anti, but this is their 4th straight day of playing. Can't imagine they would've got much quality prep for it.

Surely Fracture, which has been a very good map for them historically, was the obvious 1st pick for them when Trace have a fantastic Bind.

could be that they think the issue was their previous encounter's execution and not expecting stuff. EDG do have the egos to simply run it back with the EXACT same gameplans

I think it's fair if they feel that way, but I disagree with picking your opponent's (possibly best, at least top 2) map even if you feel you've got a decent grasp on it. Obviously don't know what's going on internally, but based on everything we know, Fracture pretty clearly seems like the map they'd have the highest expected win % on in this series with Haven/Split gone.

Edit - I suppose it's also possible they don't care about seeding much and would wanna avoid showing stuff if possible. Don't know how likely, but could be on the table.

your thought is very reasonable. though, Muggle's entire schtick from what I can tell is <if they think they can do it then fuck it we ball> and him & Century build gameplans around what the TEAM thinks is their biggest strengths. his job is to prep them to the best of their ability, not steer the team into a direction that HE thinks is good. but idk

also with the seeding: I think it's less that EDG don't care about seeding enough to reveal deeper levels of their stratbook and more that they don't think it's necessary to secure the #1 slot lol. Just from this and the Lotus game we can see how even though they have the same overall strats and gameplans they're playing wayyy better after waking up & properly adjusting in-game

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said that, more about not showing stuff even if it cost them seeding. Started typing something along the lines of leaving Pearl map 5 since they haven't shown it yet and then Fracture which they've only shown once as map 4 for that reason, but it felt to speculative.

I'm also quite curious what they're gonna do for both of those maps for Bangkok. It would be out of character for the coaching staff to not cook something up and it's interesting knowing that they've been shoehorning the Tejo. Might be in for a treat after next map lol

Yeah, I still think the process is valid if the goal was to maximize win probability. Have a tough time seeing the expected win % lower on Fracture.

It's just hilarious that a 6-0 immidiately started going the other way the second I spike LMAO
