am I wrong? I can somewhat understand most other arabic dialects, when I hear a morrocan speak I don't even realize they're speaking arabic

You're right, it's very different compared to most dialects of Arabic. But I watched part of that interview and with subtitles I could make out about a third of what he was saying, so it's not like it straight up isn't Arabic or anything. I think it's mostly cuz I don't really have much exposure to the dialect, whereas with Egyptian I can make out most of it even though they speak very very quickly
Yea I heard a ton of French in there and I'm not sure if that's relatively common or not but it didn't make too big a difference for me because I know French as well. I tried to focus on the Arabic alone when making that judgement
