Reason why Valorant is going to be the biggest esports ever -> Riot cares + FPS game hits different.

And we guys are going to be part of its history and tell our grandkids how we played the beta of this game :)

Well, this rely in the main goal of Valve x RIOT

Valve doesn't want to be an esport company, they release their game, make money from it, they fund only one tournament per year just to make the game appear on the news to bring new players then bring more money. Valve is like 95% of the game industry.

Riot want to build a esport, they support it, they advertise it, they build their games towards it. Their main focus its to build an community towards their games.

That's why there's not a single company that comes close to esport management and that's why LOL is the biggest esport/game out there. Valorant certainly will follow the same path.

Too bad because I would not like so see the esport world dominated by just one company, would like to see companys like Blizzard, Microsoft, Valve itself and others building an esport ecosystem as strong as the RIOT one...

You’re wrong, you are talking as if Valve only had CS, they really care about Dota, it isn’t the esport with the biggest amount of prize pools because of nothing. Plus what has the fact that Valve doesn’t care about esports with not fixing the game. The community doesn’t ask for any crazy new thing, just to fix what they already have

Valve only cares about numbers bro. They keep pumping out skins into DotA and CS because that's what is keeping interest in the games. Valve doesn't even invest much into DotA. They only put up $1-2 mil. The rest of the prize pool for the International is generated from the community buying battle passes, levels and skins.

Valve doesn't really care if the gameplay is mediocre as long as people keep buying skins. And it's proven that some people don't even care about the game (CSGO). They just want to collect.
