a lot of the top players (who happen to be trans) are overqualified for it and yet they don't move up to tier 2/3 to play there. imagine if aspas played in tier 2 and never left, it just doesn't make sense
now it's not completely the players' fault since there's no financial incentive to move to tier 2 but it's a large part of the reason for the rampant transphobia around the issue. you look at flor play for example(who's probably the most "hated" player in gc) and it's clear she's a tier above them.
it's also the reason a lot of people people want it to be "women's only" since it's like having 4 immortals and a radiant vs 5 immortals. now of course skill differences exist, but the difference shouldn't be this big if they're part of the same league (doesn't apply for tier 1 since it's the highest tier and the ceiling is "infinite").
TLDR: my issue isn't with trans people playing in gc, it's with overqualified players (who mostly happen to be trans) playing in gc. it's supposed to encourage marginalized genders to become pros, not to keep them in tier 4
