hello, I just want to ask u guys how to properly VOD review any match? (whether it's ur ranked games or a VCT match)

I do want to improve my gameplay by trying to do what the pros do, and it would be very much appreciated if u gave me examples, thank you!

VCT Match: Youtube
Take notes each round of what the player you're focusing on is doing and when. Pulling off util timings and reads based off of how the other team is playing is extremely important to learn. If you see the player is being countered, makes notes of how you could handle it differently. Make sure you keep in mind when they rotate based off what indicators as well as good util setups as well.

Your game: any recording software (full match, not just highlights)
Take notes every single time you get a kill and also when you die, as well as when your teammates die. Should you have helped them? Should you have been in a different position? Could you have used your utility differently? Should you have peeked based off the info you had, or played held a tight angle? Try to visualize how you could've made the fight more in your favor, even if it was just a whiff, maybe if you were in a position to land an easier shot there would've been less of a chance to miss.

not gonna lie, if you're just focusing on ranking up just watch some top elo players and internalize (not analyze, mind you) their mechanics and habits in rounds. people like shitting on brute-force because it's braindead but as long as you understand why some decisions are stupid via trial and error you'll be fine on the climb.
if by chance you don't, though, then at that point watch your own vods and take notes on what specifically led to negative outcomes (inting in a 2v1, not halfing spike, etc) and try to realize what you can do differently. I'ma be real as long as you put minimal thought into your gameplay you'll probably not need to vod review because you'll definitely have some "why the fuck did I do that" moments.
if you're playing an agent/role that requires set-up or lineup knowledge then watch some tutorial or pro-vods to learn those. otherwise pro vods are circumstantial at best to emphasize

I'm not focusing on ranking up when it comes to VOD reviewing, I just want to understand the game a little bit more for now

pretty much just #2 then but take it one step at a time. maximizing your impact in a vacuum is a long process so as long as you don't overwhelm yourself with too many points of improvement you'll be fine. pretty sure you alr know that but just putting it out there
