ok heres a thought experiment
women are a minority in online gaming (lets take valorant), men are the majority
that is a big point that ppl use to say why there arent a lot of good female players

ok, the % of non binary/trans population is orders of magnitude smaller (and thus are an even bigger minority in online gaming)
and yet a lot of the non binary/trans players end up outperforming the female players

this contradicts the "less women play games" argument doesnt it?

(I AM BEING RESPECTFUL AND TRYING TO HAVE A CONVERSATION)

A lot of but not all the time. I’m pretty sure that 9/10 gc champions have been born women and after this next champions it will be 12/13

Also as for time spent playing games I believe that trans women play more than cis women because they spend more time inside due to issues with self image, meaning they’re more likely to take up gaming as a hobby. Then again there isn’t much research on this and I can’t say for sure, it’s just my own belief and speculation

Yea it’s still the same argument, women not having access to gaming due to parents not thinking gaming is for girls, or being ostracised from communities which are their biggest issues, doesn’t really apply to trans women who grew up as boys and would have faced less of the issues cis women face.

Obviously now they’re trans people hate and exclude them more than cis women, thus validating their place in GC, but potentially being the reason why they are often higher skill than their female counterparts.

100%, I find that childhood plays a significant part as to why trans players are seemingly better than bio women on average.
