They get money through salaries not tournament winnings. Tier 2 salaries alone are much more what GC players get as share for placing high. There is no minimum salary in GC meaning most GC players are unpaid. Playing in GC also reduces your change to trial for Tier 1 and good Tier 2 teams.
You think someone would lie to earn less money and have a worse career because you are a 12 years old kid and don't understand how the world works.
