Bonkar failed with the supposed most stacked team in na t2, Chet had a shit year and failed with a superteam I dont see whats the difference between the two except that chet actually accomplished something by winning masters

i think its because his understanding of the game was extremely good. when he was on guild, the team didnt exactly have the most star studded roster (sure sayf and leo were there but still). it was his set plays that made them seem like a very solid team in EMEA back in 2021. it was gameplay that hadnt been seen in valorant at the time, especially in EMEA. his time as a pro player in Paladins allowed him to transfer the understanding and knowledge from that game to make full use of the abilities aspect of valorant. he was highly regarded even back then due to this, and a lot of people had high hopes for him as a coach. he did do a good job on oxygen, but unfortunately the team choked when it mattered most.

oh yeah ONLY sayf and leo. Sayf a top 5 duelist player in all EMEA, and last seasons top duelist. and leo who is arguably the most consistent and probably one of the top 5 best players in all EMEA. only those two.

also that is so so revisionist history. that team was heavily critiqued for not having set plays and executes on par with what they lost in Bonkar being a bottom 10 player. Guild never won or did anything because they were fine. just fine. they weren't these gods of understanding the game held back by their player quality. they had good players in two rolls. two crazy skilled players, and some okay ideas at the game that ultimately weren't good enough.

the ideas they brought to the game were fine and pretty good. but they weren't these revolutions to the game and meta people think they were. people act like they are on the level of a LOUD bringing Harbour Viper meta to the game or even Chet and Optic bring us Chamber meta. when Bonkar has never shown anything close to that and in fact never even showed a mastery of strats, set plays, and macro that an EG did.

Bonkar was a below average player with okay ideas. and will prob be a coach with okay ideas that will hope his team can drag him out just like how Sayf and Leo had to on Guild.

hope he proves me wrong though, but HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt it
