Most of Europe(not counting the UK ofc) speaks terrible English on average, exceptions are mainly Germanic countries, especially the Netherlands or Scandinavian states. English is not the lingua franca in Europe as much as it is in North America, come to France and test it yourself, come to Spain or Italy, and I'm not even going to mention countries in Eastern Europe like Poland or Romania or Lithuania.

Belarusian is unironically more useful in Poland than English, I tested it myself. In Lithuania only our generation speaks English, boomers don't, at least from my experience.

I was born in the UK but I’ve also lived in Ireland and now in Canada.

Also I’m not dumb enough to say Russia isn’t part of Europe lmao that’s just wrong. It’s just that referring to the entire EMEA region as EU rubs me the wrong way, to me it feels like calling all of SEA indonesia

I dont think the SEA example is a good one tbh, but me coming from CSGO CIS is basically EU aswell but game very popular there so they get their own major qualifiers, they are both CIS and EU

There are no CIS servers, Russians play on Stockholm if they are from northwest and on Warsaw if they are from central/southern part.
