If you had to get rid of one forever which one would you get rid of? Beaver tails or Poutine?
For non Canadians, Beaver tails aren't actual tails of beavers, its a dessert.
chrlxz [#2]chips gravy cheese, england = omg that is disgusting english food is horrible
chips gravy cheese, canada = delicacy
go eat your canned beans on stale bread and your damn mushy peas
CanadaMan [#3]go eat your canned beans on stale bread and your damn mushy peas
beans and bread in africa 'wow so cultured'
beans and bread in england 'ewww'
chrlxz [#5]beans and bread in africa 'wow so cultured'

Key difference is many african countries eat like that because a lot of people live in poverty, so they don't got much of a choice. England is a developed country and still eats like they in WW2

Counterpoint; your country took over half the world and literally colonized India for their spices and you still somehow managed to make food look and taste bad

classist narrative
u think working class people back then had access to spices

It's the 21st century, do yall still not have access to spices?

the food you think of as traditional english dishes are not even eaten that often
its just cultural dishes that came from working class people
poor english people arent allowed to have culture though ofc
most people in england eat food that comes from all over the world
you think people shouldnt have cultural foods if they came from poor people

If food is shit it doesn't matter what it's background is, I'm not gonna call fried crickets good because it has a deep culture in rural Asian countries

you know a lot of poorly developed countries like in africa overseason food because they dont have good quality ingredients right
like if i have good quality beef or something im not gonna smother it in cheap spices because i want to taste the beef
in england a long time ago rich people smothered food in spices because the quality was bad, and eventually poor people did the same until it went out of fashion

yeah africa seasons there beans you guys have plain beans on toast straight out the can i love beans when they are cooked and so does everybody
most english food is ass you guys colonized so many places and didn't learn a single thing for example curry sauce like wtf is that and you put it with unseasoned fish sticks and unseasoned chips
but tbh most white food is mid you guys did alot of colonization so karma :D
Prancer [#4]I'm not Canadian but I saw a tiktok where a guy made a poutine with fries and shawarma so beaver tails have to go
The best poutine is better than the best beaver tails but theres a lot of stinky trash poutine out there
CanadaMan [#7]The best poutine is better than the best beaver tails but theres a lot of stinky trash poutine out there
all of it is stinky trash
cloudberry [#6]I'd keep poutine, 100%. Beavertails are just way too sweet for my taste
It's been a while since I have had either but I think I agree
Yuniee44 [#8]I always imagined poutine to be kinda horrible. Who likes soggy fries?
when you get the plate of putine its not soggy, it takes a couple minutes to get soggy to the point where it feels gross.
CanadaMan [#15]when you get the plate of putine its not soggy, it takes a couple minutes to get soggy to the point where it feels gross.
so you just gotta gobble that shit up huh
Yuniee44 [#8]I always imagined poutine to be kinda horrible. Who likes soggy fries?
It's only really soggy if it's made poorly. If the fries are decently crisp, then they should stay crisp for a while even with melted cheese and gravy on top
cloudberry [#16]I removed your status as a Canadian, so you don't get a say in this
i speak the truth and get in trouble for it
