After dropping their LoL midlaner, Jojopyun, who was paid $750,000/ year that shoudl really open up capital available for the rest of their ventures (val hopefully)

2023:

This is C9's year

After dropping their VAL star player, yay, who was paid $1,000,000/ year (for 6 months) that should really open up capital available for the rest of their ventures

he made it up randomly lmfao, yay was 100% not making 80k+ a month. highest i'd guess is 50k although even that is pretty high

not confirmed but its not random. It's likely very close to, maybe slightly higher than the real salary. The avg t1 NA salary (not exclusive to VAL) is around 50k a month (this has been looked into quite thoroughly as its a massive contributor in to making esports unsustainable), so a player like yay who was the biggest name in val at the time should've easily cleared that mark.

He said on stream he had multiple offers from all 3 regions (this was in the 2022 offseason), including with NRG. If it wasn't for the bag he would've gone NRG most likely. He also had the 1m offer from Bleed but I don't think he wanted to play on tier 2 at the time. That compounded with the fact that C9 cut him to save money really points towards him having a 800-900k salary minimum imo

why spend that much on a game where your team will never have any fans.
