academy team rules

im assuming teams aren't allowed to have both an academy and affiliate team next year, but can someone confirm this? Also would orgs just be able to partner up with their current affiliate teams and upgrade them to 'academy' status?

The only ones that probably have that info are the teams themselves. I don't think most teams would want an affiliate and an academy team. Most would just have one but see no reason why Riot wouldn't allow them to have both.

They likely can, because academy teams are not subject to ascension, so it isn't really a conflict of interest
It is definitely a conflict of interest, so no they shouldn't allow it
(ie. the academy team always throws against the affiliate team to give them a better record)

I'm also confused by Rashindra's tweet. afaik t1 teams can have a challengers team if the majority of them are gamechangers players
