Holy fuck this season felt fast asf no? Last year Champs ended in September I think. This year Champs ends before August. Off season is about to be cancer. Only good off season events are Red Bull and Ludwig Tarik. Gonna be so boring wow. Probably not a lot of roster changes too since teams are broke and don't care about val or maybe change 1 or 2 players. I doubt there's gonna be full rebuilds but maybe I'm wrong.

if only GC was more competitive/entertaining this break would not feel so bad. how do they expect us to go from watching players like KangKang, TenZ and aspas to watching tier-3 gameplay.

I don't know how you valo fans deal with off season, CS has constant action with like two breaks in the year which are a month long, wtf guys

25 tier 1 events next year, possibly 29 if Betboom gets a license from valve.
And they probably will, given their ties in Dota and 30 with Esports world cup

That's what happens when you have only 1 TO. CS has Blast, ESl, PGL, EWC, BetBoom, Starladder, YaLLa Compass and Majors as well. Meanwhile Valorant only has Riot who run only their calendar

valorant is not profitable enough to warrant TOs wanting that responsibility to begin with. riot loses money hosting events and is only able to make it back through skins. crowd and viewership are too inconsistent to rely on. meanwhile CS is very profitable so hosting is not as much of a financial burden.

It's fucking crazy that the viewership in the West is yet to break 1 million. With 0 american teams, I really doubt that region will watch the final, maybe the viewership won't even break the 1 million mark, it would be insanely bad

the game is just not popular enough. people can talk all day about valorant has many fans from all over the world but that does not mean much if they do not watch the pro games.

I mean that's why CS will likely remain the superior FPS esport. Better crowd, more events, more TOs, more storylines, set-up youth intakes. Some people call CS a 1-region game, but that region follows CS eagerly, and CS still keeps growing in South America (with them rising at the Copenhagen major) and Asia (mongolz+events hosted in China). Meanwhile valo will probably become the asian game, with china and pacific, emea seems uninterested in the game at all and americas depend on sentinels viewership

No SEN no watch. I mean I think people from Americas would watch it even without Americas team in it but the time zone kinda fucks us.

and it is clearly seen that riot want to appeal to the asian market, otherwise they would host champs somewhere in neutral timezones, like Lisbon.

5 months break is still fucking insane

Yeah but it ends in october so only 2 months break from 2025 end to 2026 season start

I still don't understand why keep it a 3 event cycle.
Probably because going towards 4 will be such a big loss that riot don't find it sustainable :D
