Abyss - ?
Ascent - LEV
Bind - should be EDG but their defense could be a problem
Haven - ?
Icebox - LEV if aspas don't miss his op
Lotus - 50/50. EDG hava a good record but aspas always drops nuclear on this map plus lev have more vods to study their enemy
Sunset - even heretics feared to play this map against LEV so I have to give it to LEV

Map ban/pick:
(don't know who's team a/b but doesn't really matter)
EDG ban ascent, LEV ban bind
EDG pick lotus, LEV pick icebox/haven
EDG ban abyss, LEV ban haven/sunset
sunset/haven remains

Prediction: LEV 2-0 EDG

EDG sunset 3-13 LOUD, 6-13 PRX, 6-13 TH. I don't think this means anything

i dont think ur take means anything either. all 3 of these maps were from madrid - shanghai where they looked terrible and bombed out and before they added s1mon, dropped afteR, and added haodong and muggle to AC and HC. The past doesnt matter. The present matters. In this event they won all 3 of their sunset maps. It was against good opponents too: PRX, SEN. IDK if you would count trace but they also won vs them. I think Sunset is legit a 50/50. One round will be the difference for whether EDG wins or LEV wins.

I agree on ur other takes though. Including the map prediction. But I think it goes 3 maps though.

shanghai where lev bombed out also made a coach stage and looked like a completely different team starting stage 2 just to add to your point. i agree sunset is a 50/50 - lev did lose 7-13 to kru recently in their second rematch who destroyed kru the first time they played 13-4

dont know why but I think both teams wins each others map picks. u can just kinda feel it. EDG picks lotus which they get anti-strat. LEV picks icebox or haven but EDG either anti-strats them back or polishes their mistakes on those map and goes to map 3

Said this during the SEN pre-thread where ppl were saying SEN's Sunset record is too good for EDG to let through—Sunset is EDG's best map since Stage 2 and they aren't afraid of anyone on it.

EDG 100% have a decent chance to win that I just think LEV had a more convincing performance. Also I wasn't impressed by SEN's performance against DRX so did not surprised they lost

Icebox is always 50-50. Seems Like every team struggle on defender side.

I give haven slightly to EDG.

I think Lev is more strong on Bind than Sunset. EDG seems really comfortable on sunset, and they actually find a way how to play defender side.

Imo it goes

Abyss - Up in the air
Ascent - LEV
Bind - EDG easily
Haven - LEV
Icebox - LEV easily
Lotus - EDG
Sunset - Actual 50/50

I think EDG would be wise to float Ascent and ban Icebox. Don't think LEV will be confident enough to pick Ascent, and EDG have a decent enough chance if they opt for Haven. Also opens up the chance LEV just pick Sunset and EDG get to play their 2 best maps 1st and 2nd. Though I don't think LEV's Icebox is anywhere near as strong as the record indicates, I don't think EDG have much of a chance on the map unless they're just aim diffing, LEV probably being the worst team to have that as a win condition against lmao.

LEV seem to have finally started perma-ing Bind (thank God), with that out of the pool, I think it's basically impossible that the veto doesn't sway their way.

Since EDG did the Icebox ban against SEN (though for different reasons), I think it's likely enough that I'll predict it here.

EDG ban Icebox
LEV ban Bind
EDG pick Lotus
LEV pick Haven
EDG ban Ascent
LEV ban Abyss
Sunset Decider

I'd expect a 2-1 for LEV, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised by any result here. Each map would be winnable for either team with this veto.

Nah Lev will definitely pick Ascent if EDG doesn't ban it, i don't think the loss against Trace will be enough to make them lose their faith on their Ascent, especially because its against EDG.

Honestly this game should start 1-0 for Lev because they should win Icebox or Ascent (whatever EDG doesn't ban) pretty cleanly.

The other 2 maps are gonna be good for both teams no matter what so really its anyone's game from there. To me, its:

EDG ban Icebox
LEV ban Bind
EDG pick Lotus
LEV pick Ascent
EDG ban Abyss
LEV ban Haven
Sunset Decider

As you said i think Lev wins 2-1 or even 2-0 here but EDG did upset Sentinels so who knows

Is G2's icebox good? Cause EDG beat G2 on Icebox who shitted on PRX on icebox. But PRX shitted EDG on icebox. I think Icebox is also 50/50 imo.

If C0m throws, EDG wins easy. If C0m does decent, LEV has a better chance of winning. Easy way to decide this.

Both teams have inconsistent players so yeah it's very likely to go either way

G2, EDG, and PRX have all mid-bad at the map this year.

G2 always play LEV super close on the map, which could be due to several reasons, but they've pretty consistently looked bad on the map against other teams this year.

I wouldn't put it any higher than the 5th best map for EDG after watching them all year.

People said the same thing about PRX's sunset, they were 12-0 on that map with the new comp
