150 dollars is crazy. A great strategy is to find a dupe/clone of whatever popular fragrance you like (having the same notes). The big thing is to find out what notes and aspects of different fragrances you like, and just find other fragrances with those notes. Also the go-to is two fragrances (one for daily wear, make sure its suited towards warmer weather depending on where you live; other for night-time and colder weather.)
Tbh I’ve been using clones (although high quality ones) from last 2 years and finally made up my mind to get a real thing for once. Also I think you’re right about the two fragrance thing, I’ll get a cheaper one, but still need a really nice original stuff which I’m gonna keep for special occasion only.
