my gaming laptop has a ryzen 9 5800hs + rtx 3060

BARELY RUNS VALORANT AT 150FPS, for AAA titles like elden ring I'll go 720p all low and get 45-50fps still

probably a thermal paste issue, but I'm shifting back home soon where i have my gaming pc, i have a budget of about 15,000 inr (180usd) , thought I'd upgrade my i3 9100f to a i5 12400f (new mobo) and the hdd to a nvme ssd, and double the ram , i have a 1660 super on my pc

I'm pretty sure it'll run better than the fuckall performance my fraud laptop is giving no?

Wdym barely runs at 150 fps? I run at 90. A lot of people run less than that. Be grateful for what you have

you would get like 400-500 on a 5800+3060 adjacent PC lol

pretty sure the 5900x is notoriously ass with valorant for some reason, i get 250-300 with my 5600g and 2080 lol

no matter what specs u have it is hard to get over 300 that is what your computer basically caps it to 300

that's a blatant lie

your computer will see that you dont need all the resources towards it and will stop using it which caps around 300
this is why you see streamers also only hover around 300 fps even when they are on the best of the best computers
it is also why you can get more fps by having higher graphics settings because it tells you to run more pc much faster

your computer does NOT cap valorant at 300 let's be serious for a second, i've played in PCs with 500-600 fps

Lol I chuckle every time I see the term “shifting”, reminded me of that old Russell Peters joke. However yeah no gaming laptop is worth it, even a budget PC with the right CPU/GPU can get you running 300+fps easily and with way less temp related issues

yeah man, I'm done, I'll probably give this laptop after repasting to my lil bro and never buy a gaming laptop ever again 🙏

I have an Alienware with an old i7 10750h and rtx 2070 super and I get 300 consistently, I’m sure it’s just a thermal issue for you

Idk, looks like he's playing with the igpu instead of the dedicated GPU.

See if its utilizing the apu? I mean this seems like apu numbers. Check if the rtx 3060 is being used idk man, do you have mux switch or a dedicated gpu mode?

gaming laptop isn't meant for high performance it's meant to be a mobile-balanced gaming. You won't be able to beat pc with the same specs because not only does the laptop have lower TDP, but it doesn't have the same heat spreader capabilities. This means Laptop GPU and CPU can never achieve the same speed as their desktop counterparts.
But even then your gaming laptop would be considered game-changing 5 years ago. Why, because the specs of your laptop showcase the same performance output as a 2700x and a GTX 1070TI which at that time would roughly cost $1200-1600 (desktop only)

ive had macbooks that run 300 easily, there has to be some form of malfunction or maybe try putting a laptop cooler under it?
