I know they are in beta, but how exactly are the rankings determined? Just by wins/losses against other ranked teams? I'm not saying there aren't T2 teams that are better than T1 (like Oxygen and DZ being higher than Furia or MIBR), but don't they seem ranked too high?
Winning or holding up against several T1 teams internationally should increase the ranking way more than playing Winthrop University 10 times.
Theyve been in beta 3.5 years now and its been years since the last update
But yea its just a blind elo system atm. Doesnt rate teams based on tier - so the best t2 team will have similar elo to the best t1 team (at times even better elo since they can be more dominant)
Its even more funny in EMEA where t2 teams play in separate leagues, meaning teams like Dsyre only have to play against a still very young Italian scene with only 1 real competition the entire year
Its a mess and quite frankly VLR is only harming t2 teams since theres still orgs to this day that use the rankings to determine if they wanna sign teams
