Chamber and astra metas were the best metas in valorant (for me). Chamber and astra meta made teams think harder and play the game more tactically then right now. With chamber teams would either have to dump until, get lucky, or just go to the other site. Then there would be a stack and crazy executes would happen. With util dumping chamber post plants would then be harder and less spammy then it is rn. By lucky I mean just 1 tap him before the tp.

With astra baiting out stars and fakes were the most prominent. With this teams would have to read perfectly or lose the round by getting outplayed. Although astra was even more broken than chamber imo I think they could've turned her down a bit not as much as they did.

I speak for everyone, astra meta was fun in ranked but boring in pro play like thank god they nerfed her after 1 year

Because the game was still new and people didn't know how to counter astra, but nowadays teams are very smart and it would be masterclasses every round

No, it’s because Astra was broken and Omen was shit at the time. Thank goodness Riot did the right thing about this

Agreed on astra but chamber tp was way too OP. It didn't make teams think harder, it allowed them to take risky angles without worrying about getting out.

people delude themselves into thinking watching slow utility heavy default heavy gameplay is better than watching 2 chamber superstars going inch for inch every map

That's because you watch EU... all of NA is just hero plays. Watch the C9 vs. KRU game and you'll see the gameplan is just "send oxy in and pray he gets kills".

That's my point, the only reason those chamber superstars existed is because they weren't "superstars", the agent needed to be nerfed.

The problem was how centralizing they were, they practically REQUIRED a roster slot. Tuning them heavily was maybe unncessary, but the fact is the metas grew stale with them around, and innovations were only about countering their util or waiting out stars.

Sadly that's just a part of valorant, like you basically need Viper on Breeze or Sova on Ascent to do well.

That is true, but imagine that for EVERY MAP, that era required you to play them ad nauseam. Chamber was a role you were brought on for, not duelist.
