Spots are not determined by skill or performance, but the size of the region as a field of competitors. LATAM could be the best in the world and still only get 1 spot.

i hope the Japan region as a whole will use this first year as fuel to come back swinging next year, because its obvious that its difficult to keep up with the big dogs but hopefully they can make some more impact in years to come because their region loves this game

You have to count the Spanish stream as LATAM numbers too. 35K + Costream, one of them +15K. Total of 60/65K
