I've been saying this to everyone from the start. And the way scarz builds this roster are even more harmful than just getting imports who can speak Japanese. When you import a korean or two, at least they can speak Japanese so you can get Japanese players to compete too, so there is development there.

Scarz roster is an english speaking team in Japanese League where I'm pretty sure barely anyone is able to speak fluently. Which means less development for JApanese talent instead scarz have to get 4 imports.

yup they previous roster last year kinda acceptable but now its a nono i hope they failed so scars realise just to invest on the youngster on japan

Bet if they lose this split Fadezis is gonna cut Tenzou and find another half japanese so he can fulfill his dream of getting a full english-speaking roster πŸ˜‚. In the first place, the concept of an english speaking roster in a non-english speaking league is already absurd by itself

The owners are Japanese, and they can field a Japanese roster if they wanted to. Their R6's roster is japanese roster after all. It's just Fadezis said he wanted an english speaking roster.

last years roster was already 3 imports and kinda scummy and this time they said ight 1 more this time

its so sad because when i saw tenzou initially i thought he was pretty good and i wanted him to do well, and now he's on this scarz team which feels like the rest of the roster just want to get a easy career (no shade to the jp scene because i want them to do well and become a strong force at the top level)

TBH I feel like people like Tenzou actually benefitted from this roster because everyone can see that he's good. Prior to this roster I actually thought he's not good at all. So Tenzou getting recognized for his talent is the only upside I can see from this roster.
And even that, it's much sadder when you realize that the only reason Tenzou is picked aside from his talent is because of his fluency in English.

there were many peoples streams that i watched from vcj that played with/know tenzou and thats where i found him, but yeah its kinda sad how his talent wasnt explored by other jp teams, but rather from scarz because his english is pretty decent

i really hope japan as a whole can thrive in valorant

No doubt the scene will thrive it's just I'm concerned that issues like the import rules will come and bite vcj in the future πŸ˜….

japan has very good talent im ngl, and its a bit funny too because like wtf r they even gonna do if they even somehow end up in franchising with the one input rule 😭😭

Exactly lmao, I mean that's probably the reason JDG flopped in the end, they got screwed by the import rule having to choose whether to retain stew or yoman πŸ˜….

Since they are an english speaking roster, they can basically pickup any english speaking player in Pacific if they do qualify. Not to mention, Lumo and Tixx are their imports. However, if they make it to APAC, then Tixx would not be considered a import, since OCE is a part of APAC. they technically don't have to drop anyone.

Are both Jemkin and something considered as imports or not?

Not sure on Jemkin, but I'm reasonably certain that something was classified as a import for PRX.

so the only one that will be counted as import if they win ascension is Lumo?? tf bro πŸ˜…

Not enough Japanese talents, there are a lot of other teams to develop talents.

What Scarz did is just like telling everyone, "Hey guys, We can win this shit without relying on Japanese players at all, you should join us too since the rules are so laxed and they're (supposedly) much better than JP players". The implication on this scene is huge, especially when you've been relying on imports a lot. This will exacerbate the problem even more.

Stop saying nonsense.

  1. If org sign coach from abroad surely its better to have language barrier so as a coach you will spend on explaining theory / feedback x2 time and unable to speak with a team in timeout without translator or have x2 less time to speak during timeout cuz all stuff need to be translated as well. Org also will need spend extra on translator. Great idea.

  2. I took tenzou cuz i saw in him talent during tryouts and he learned and improved his english and as a player during his time in a team. But it was possible only cuz we had some time in offseason and its also depends on the player. Someone will listen and ask for advice and do stuff to improve, someone will not.

Everyone would be happy to make 5JP roster if players they wanted would be possible to get.
There are plenty of eng speaking japanese if you know the scene. But there is a reality check. Some of them impossible to afford, someone impossible to get just cuz his org will not sell him or not even let the player know that you contacted about him. (thats why its hard for both partnered JP orgs get players they want to). JP players dont have agencies and sometimes they sign shit contracts too.

I still wanted to win, so since we couldnt get any eng speaking option from here on roles i wanted i looked who i can get abroad and develop to. Same approach orgs doing on partnership league, but people take it normally. saya, ban, governor, russ all just have citizenship of Pacific counrties, while played in their valorant careers only abroad before pacific, yet they count as residents of Pacific and its normal.

Sure bro, Johnta is fluent in Japanese. Very convincing argument there. Regardless all this happened because you wanted an english speaking roster.

And FL also invest much more on their roster bro. Thats the point. We didnt had as much , but yet i wanted to be competitive.
If i sit on coach slot i want to understand what why and how my players communcating or what they didnt coordinate/say, so i can understand what we need to adjust.

Just know that you're bringing bad influence on this scene, and if what I feared do indeed happen, I will never forgive you for that.

question why look for a player already on a team and complain not getting them because of contract? when you can just look for a player unsign that can speak basic english japan viewership is big so i think the talent pool also deep but scarz choose to import? isnt imports much pricey compaired too japanese unsign talent ?

  1. Since we made it to ascension and got after it informed we cant keep 2 russians we were very late to rebuild the roster, and a lot of players who i had my eyes on already were signed mid july- august.
And you also dont understand that japan is minor region, playerpool is limited while there is a lot of orgs. Getting good player is harder than in other regions.

  2. some players just decided they want to join different team, since its easier to speak on mother language / higher salary

  3. Some players i looked on were underage / had lack of experience. Some of them in our academy rn.

Japanese people tend to emphasize whether a half-Japanese person can speak Japanese to confirm their identity as Japanese. However, I think this is an "emotional argument" and too hateful.😞

For one, this is not me being Japanese or not( that's because I'm not) .I'm just grown to love this scene a lot. I always tried to word my sentence hoping that this does not come out as hate speech. I'm not blaming Yotaa or Yoshii for being half japanese here.

But I'm also not blind as to what kind of trickery Scarz just pulled this year and last. I just want a scene where we don't rely too heavily on Imports, and what Scarz have been doing is just making us relying on imports more and it's not a good thing.

I sometimes receive replies from you, so I understand what you're saying. The issue I want to highlight is that there are people who claim to be "1JP". This is especially noticeable in the JP community, and I mentioned emotional arguments as the reason for this.
If Caedye and yatsuka have dual nationality, would people still call RID a 1JP team if they don't have the Japanese flag on VLR.gg? In this regard, I feel that there is quite a lot of hate towards SZ.

So my sentiment is not that rare after all (even though my aim isn't the same as them but we're quite similar in some ways) πŸ˜…. All this time I always think that I'm fighting against the world. I do feel that's more of domestic team rivalry issue. No one likes being defeated and if you want to take down someone, you will do anything to do that. But hey, there's a lot of people like you too so I wouldn't worry about that.πŸ‘Œ

I’m real japanese and have supported this team for 2 years because my hometown is near to SCARZ’s one.
Last year, I went to the venue to support SZ both in the Split2 playoffs and at Redbull Home Ground.

Haters must be concerned about the Japanese scene.
Then they criticize the players and teams who are working hard in Japan.
It is weird, isn’t it?

A vlr user continues to criticize the players and the team while using the Japanese flag.
Have you ever thought about how the players feel that the people in the country they live in may not accept them?
Don't pretend to be Japanese and make harmful remarks.

Are Tier 2 teams just there to develop players who are good enough for Tier 1?
If so, there would be no need for ascension slots.
We should not forget that many players are working hard to move up to Tier 1 as a team.
