Ethan Vs Zellsis

I was discussing w another VLR user on who the better player is overall. No hate towards that person whatsoever because I enjoy discussions like this, but I would just like other peoples opinions. Who do you guys think is the better player overall? You can choose to consider ethan as igl or not, but it would be fair to not consider his igl stats/performances as anyones stats/personal performance would dip as an IGL.

I want you guys to consider impact for the team and how they actually contribute in matches not some mere number because of a pop off game, stomp game, or stat player game. truly as a player and their value to the team.

(no vibes merchant bs even though I do agree zellsis is THE guy for that).

edit: i was on Ethan's side and the other guy had a SEN flair

Zellsis is underrated skill and game sense wise, people put him into that "Vibe merchant" bubble too much even though his energy and the vibes he bring are really important. But imo Ethan is on another level. His util usage especially flashes is insane and top 5 in all of tier 1.

ethan in skill.
Zellsis carries team spirit, which makes their team work better.

Zellsis is better because he yells on stage and has more followers on twitch and says "good job tyson!"

Zellsis > Ethan due to his role flexibility, Ethan is probably the better initiator but its close enough that it likely would not make or break a team. Role flexibility is far more valuable than performance on one role in the current shifting meta. If we had a stagnant chamber meta again then I take Ethan but otherwise I take Zellsis for his solid performance on initiator and solid performances on other agents.

People usally forgets that johnqt lurks so many times zellsis has to make the calls. He is the 2nd caller of the team, he is good player sometimes he lacks in firepower but thats should be fine.

i respect your opinion, and we will see. ethan really hasnt been given a chance to show anything since last year/to play on other roles so we wouldn't 100% know, but I do agree with everything you said except flexibility being a factor. flexibility is only "valuable" when no one else can flex on your team and a flex is needed. on NRG rn vic can play duelist senti and semi initiator, crashies can play initiator and hassss played viper (not saying itll be good), s0m can play smokes and raze if needed, ethan can play any inititator + omen, and FNS can play viper and any sentinel. if you ask me thats a ton or at least more than enough flexibility for one team for the "flexibility" position to not really matter in an argument like this.

id say if it were a team like

ethan (initiator)
aspas (duelist)
boaster (smokes)
nats (senti)
c0m (scan initiator + cypher)

or something, zellsis wouldddd be more valuable since the guys I listed above are known for playing only one role

Ethan is more skilled and aims better. Zellsis is great but just more lifting vibes kind of guy.
