what do you mean drx qualified for playoffs off of one win
Dreoxx [#2]carries over from split 1 wins. stupid format coming from a generational drx glazer
another riot masterclass 🥰
michaelisupset [#4]another riot masterclass 🥰
Wait so does that mean kru is pretty much qualified??
Denjisideals [#3]It's weird because of they don't follow this, then consistency would have no prize. Like in this format if you have been good since day 1, you will qualify which is kind of good I guess but it still has it's flaws. The whole format is a weird thing
they value consistency but then champ points are not rewarded to teams which make lans consistently lol
I believe that since now their overall standings is 6-0, even if they lose the next 4 matches, they will still qualify for playoffs. The rules for Stage 2 playoffs is the top 6 teams from the overall score of Stage 1 and Stage 2 combined.
This is the overall standings so far

To qualify for Champions, it has to be top 3 of Stage 2 playoffs and the 4th team qualifies by having the most Championship points in their region minusing the already qualified teams for Champs

so geng can throw every game and still qualify for champs just off points? assuming prx qualifies

Doing one single round robin over the year is so mush better than 2022 NA/EU format
NexusNomad [#5]Wait how?
Can someone explain how the championship points work. I believed it was for choosing the 4th team representing their region.
You would be correct. Top 3 teams in regional Split 2 playoffs (Adjusted Seeding via Final Ranking) advance directly to Champs Seoul, while points evaluate the 4th team to advance to Seoul.
For example, in APAC: DRX has guaranteed playoff birth from their record (6-0), since they have a better record possible than the 4th best team in their group. This wouldn't guarantee them a Champs clinch, but would guarantee a spot in playoffs.
On the other hand, GEN has the possibility of not clinching Champs through regional seeding (via playoffs) but they have basically guaranteed themselves 4th place due to the 12 points they have already accumulated. Unless PRX and GEN both manage to fumble, not make playoffs, and PRX has a greater amount of champs points, which the chance is astronomically miniscule.

yeah

Yeap, they now have like 12 championship points. they are pretty much secured for Champs alongside EDG based on Championship points

It's weird but good, less game mean less gap between team mean suspens until the end, plus we have our full round robin

I agree with this. Still an objectively questionable format. I would've liked to see additional points granted for split placement in the region, instead of carrying over wins between splits. Would allow for a better objective for teams to try to get to, but still allow for consistency to be rewarded.
sm1th0o [#8]yes. Cloud9 too
Hard to tell with cloud9, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even win a game

Oh ok I get it now. Split 2 playoffs is based on both split 1 and 2 performance. Thanks for letting me know

To me change something about how the round robin point may create some bias, instead I would rather see a last chance qualifier that would be played at the same time of playoff.
Also we need to do intragroup before crossgoroup

Fr it's so fucked that th got no points for making it to top 2
